Legal Process of Purchasing Property in North Cyprus
Property transactions in North Cyprus are anchored in British common law principles, offering high legal security for international purchasers.
5-Step Purchase Roadmap
- Reservation Deposit: Pay £1,000–£2,500 to reserve the property and lock the purchase price.
- Title Deed Search: Your independent lawyer verifies title authenticity and checks for mortgages or encumbrances at the Land Registry (Tapu Dairesi).
- Contract Signing: Sign the sales agreement upon paying the initial down payment (typically 30%–35%).
- Contract Registration (within 21 days): Registering the contract encumbers the title, legally blocking double-sales or third-party claims.
